It’s A Goa Wedding For Sushmita Sen’s Brother Rajeev And Charu Asopa On June 16
Sushmita Sen's brother Rajeev and Charu Asopa of Mere Angne Mein fame will be tying the knot on June 16 in Goa
Ever since Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev and Charu Asopa made their relationship official, everybody has been waiting to see them get married. After Sushmita announced about their engagement, now the bride-to-be Charu has spoken up at length and revealed that they will be tying the knot in Goa on June 16.
Speaking to Bombay Times, Charu said, “It will be an intimate affair with just 20-25 people each from our respective families in attendance. Our families had originally zeroed in on a date in December, but Rajeev, during a conversation with me, said that it’s too far. That’s how we advanced the date to June 16. Forget others, even our families were surprised to learn about our decision.”
The actress added, “I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals (Charu is a Rajasthani and Rajeev is a Bengali), the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage.”
Then, she is asked about her their honeymoon plans, to which she replies, “Rajeev will decide on that. I am sure that he will surprise me.” The wedding will be followed by a reception in Mumbai. The date is yet to be finalized.
Charu was earlier in a relationship with Neeraj Malviya, but things didn't work out and the two called off their engagement last year. Now, with this new beginning in her life, we wish her and Rajeev all the very best.
